Zvartnots - Ejmiatsin Tour
This journey takes you to one of the most spiritually significant places in Armenia — the city of Etchmiadzin, best known as the home of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual and administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Often referred to in Western sources as a “holy city,” and known within Armenia as the country’s spiritual capital, Etchmiadzin is a deeply meaningful destination for Armenians around the world.
After exploring this sacred site, the tour continues to the Zvartnots Cathedral, whose name means "Celestial Angels" in Armenian. Though now in ruins, Zvartnots remains one of Armenia’s most unique and impressive architectural monuments. Built in the 7th century, this medieval circular cathedral once stood as a multi-level masterpiece crowned with a massive central dome, supported by intricate columns and piers. Today, its ruins offer a powerful glimpse into Armenia’s early Christian architecture and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
